How to avoid walls and laser gates

Keep looking farther down the trench than the fighter itself. Find the next safe opening early enough that you can move once, settle and prepare for the following obstacle. Constant large corrections leave less time to read the route.

Give yourself an exit

A middle position often gives you options on both sides, but it is a starting habit rather than a rule. When an opening is at an edge, move toward it early. After passing, look ahead before returning to the middle — the next gap may be elsewhere.

Example: a safe gap beside a turret

If the opening is to the left but a turret is drawing your attention to the right, choose the opening first. Fire while moving toward safety. Do not remain in a blocked lane for a few extra shots.

X Trench Run power-ups: Shield, Wall Destroyer and Speed Down

PickupHow to think about it
ShieldExtra protection is helpful, but continue planning a safe route.
Wall DestroyerUse the temporary effect to clear obstacles; keep steering and reading ahead.
Speed DownUse the slower pace to settle your position and read the next obstacle.

A pickup does not justify a collision. If reaching one requires a late turn across a blocked lane, passing it can be the better choice. Learn each effect by watching what changes after collection.

How to beat a boss in X Trench Run

A larger enemy can make it tempting to watch only the target. Continue checking the flight path and incoming shots. Fire when your line is safe, make deliberate corrections and learn the encounter by observation. No fixed movement sequence works for every situation.

  1. Find a clear flight line before focusing on the boss.
  2. Keep firing when aligned, while watching incoming shots and the next barrier.
  3. Move out of danger early; do not remain in a blocked lane to finish an attack.
  4. After dodging, check the route again before lining up more shots.

A boss encounter is part of the continuing run. Be ready to return your attention to the trench after it ends. These are survival habits, not a guaranteed sequence or a claim that we have completed every encounter.

Improve your score one restart at a time

Instead of chasing a particular score immediately, use the next run to improve one habit: spotting openings earlier, making smaller movements or keeping fire active while steering. Notice what ended the run and change that one decision.
